Sure, as a whole, art can evoke the whole spectrum of emotions, but I would be hard pressed to find a single person that could come up with a negative connotation to kicking their feet up in a hammock and enjoying such an awesome view! "Float" is an interactive public art project by Jarrett Mellenbruch, part of the Kansas City Municipal Art Council's 2012 Avenue of the Arts, up from now through September 30. Located on the lawn of the Convention Center's Grand Ballroom, across from the Kauffman Performing Arts Center, "Float" is an oasis of hammocks that invites visitors to relax, take in the view, enjoy the sun and breeze and...float.
What's not to love? We plan on stopping by this weekend, so we'll surely share some of our own photos! For those of you not in Kansas City...admit it, you kind of wish this was in your city, too, right?
