We’ve all seen the images and videos rolling in of the tragic earthquake and tsunamis in Japan. The devastation leaves us speechless. We truly cannot even imagine what it must be like to have experienced this nightmare. The temperatures are dropping and most of those that did survive this tragedy, are now without electricity, water, food, and shelter. Not to mention, most likely dealing with the loss of loved ones.
We do not want to just continue to watch the tragedy unfold on the news, we want to do something to help!
So, as a way of honoring the tragedy in Japan, we will be taking part in the Bloggers Day of Silence
, tomorrow, March 18th. Along with over 200 bloggers, we will silence our blogs in hopes of taking the day to reflect and revere the disaster in Japan.
The thoughtful ladies of Utterly Engaged
and Ever Ours
have joined with ShelterBox
to create a fundraising site called For Japan With Love
was one of THE first organizations asked by Japan to help and were on hand on the Saturday after the quake. Each large, green ShelterBox
is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. If you’d like to donate or would like more information please visit For Japan With Love
. In addition to sending positive thoughts their way, please donate what you can and encourage others to do the same. Every little bit helps. Thank you!!
