For kids or kids-at-heart, Christmas is pure FUN! Bright & Merry captures the more playful side of the holidays. It’s irreverent and punchy. Neon has made it’s resurgence in the past few years in home decor and it’s here to stay, now infiltrating holiday decor as well! These fluorescent tones are the brightest colors imaginable and can seem overwhelming when standing alone. Mixing these neons with a neutral, whether it’s raw wood or kraft paper, gives it a new, more livable vibe. Color-blocking and color-dipping play a role in Bright & Merry as does the glossy feel of acrylic. Let the neon glow as bright as the tree lights!
We felt like the Bright & Merry trend was the perfect place to do something kids would love, and the idea of an advent calendar was our first thought! It's so hard for little ones to be patient while waiting for Christmas so an advent calendar is great for making the time leading up to it fun, too.
The calendar we designed was something that we would've never even considered had we not been using Command™ products. There is no way we'd put a million nails in our wall to achieve this one. We decided to really leverage the Command™ Small Picture Hanging Strips, Command™ Quartz Spring Clips and Command™ Small Wire Hooks to do something we couldn't do without them. They allowed us to use all different sizes of boxes, bags and envelopes to fit our gifts and hang them knowing they would come right off the wall with no marks after the holidays. We think this one will be a winner with our own kids!

Pop the champagne! Sugar Plum embraces the fizzy, sparkly, glitz of the holiday season! Jewel tones have played a major role in the past, but 2015 embraces the spectrum of lighter hues. Pastels are a surprising and refreshing twist on a holiday palette! Think blush, lavender and sky blue. Pastel pink is a big player and looks rich mixed with metallics. And, as we think of metallics for this look, keep in mind the whole range of matte gold, glittery bronze, and smooth rose gold!
To bring this look to life, we envisioned this Mixed Media Garland draped across the wall! We created and gathered all of the pieces but realized, hanging it might get really tricky. And, it turns out, without our new favorite Command products, it definitely would've been a nightmare. This look could've caused too many holes in the wall than we'd like to imagine. We're SO thankful we were partnering with Command on this!! And here is where Command™ Brand products are genius. We have loved Command™ products forever, but didn’t realize they had a whole collection of products designed specifically for throwing a party! There are a range of hooks specifically for hanging balloons or honeycombs from the walls and ceiling and others designed for hanging banners. We put a new twist on the awesome Command™ Party Banner Anchors and used them in layers to create this look. You guys, seriously, we were giddy! We sounded like a Command commercial the way were were going on and on about how awesome they were!
Our second trend we put together with Command is Gilded Modern! Christmas doesn’t have to be all about the traditional red and green. The fresh combination of black and white that is trending in home decor will mix with metallics for the 2015 holiday season. Black and white stripes will replace traditional Christmas patterns and brass is the metallic for this look. Gilded Modern is sophisticated and refreshing. It feels new, yet timeless!
When we decided on this look, we couldn't think of a better place to bring it to life that the living room – the mantel to be exact! And a holiday-specific gallery wall would sound like a nightmare to put up and take down except with Command products, it truly is super easy and damage-free! No holes in the wall and nothing is permanent! In fact, we changed our mind on the layout several times, but you would never know!
We are bursting with excitement that we can finally share an amazing collaboration we've been working on! We will be sharing much more over the next few weeks, but today we get to give you the preview of our Collaboration with 3M's Command Brand! So, are you ready for Christmas?? Yes, it's that time of year and we can't wait to help you decorate your home! The best part is, because we've teamed up with Command, none of these ideas will damage the walls or any other surface in your home! Good news, right? We thought so, too!
So here's the deal: We have put together four distinct trends for the 2015 holiday season (you're gonna love them, promise!) and we have brought them to life in our own homes! The fabulous team from Command flew right here to Kansas City and together, we selected all the perfect Command products to hang everything from outdoor Christmas lights to a full gallery wall, all without damaging a single surface! Christmas goes up...and when you're ready, it can just come right down!
So let's get started, shall we? Our first trend is CAMP CHRISTMAS!
Imagine cozying up with warm flannel blankets next to a fire burning in the fireplace and the smell of pine filling the room. Camp Christmas embraces a simpler and more family-oriented holiday season. This trend embraces the natural aspects of the holiday season. Think red holly berries, pine garlands, and freshly cut firewood. Camp Christmas begs you to forget about your to-do lists and spend time relaxing with loved ones. This trend embraces tradition and welcomes classic Christmas patterning and colors such as plaids and the classic combination of crimson and green.
